TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Legal Framework and Scope
1.1. These Terms and Conditions (hereinafter: „T&C”) have been prepared in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. 1.2. The Provider: Association of Roman Catholic Hungarians in Great Britain (Registered Charity No: 233529). 1.3. Registered Address: 62 Little Ealing Lane, London, W5 4EA, United Kingdom.
2. Formation of Contract
2.1. Any registration or booking made via the website or email constitutes an „offer.” A binding contract is only formed once the Provider confirms the booking and the receipt of payment in writing (via email). 2.2. The Provider reserves the right to refuse any registration (e.g., due to capacity limits or technical errors).
3. Cancellation and Right to Cancel
3.1. General Rule: Under UK law, consumers generally have a 14-day statutory right to cancel online purchases. 3.2. Exemptions: In accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, the statutory 14-day cancellation period does not apply to services related to leisure activities, event tickets, or catering (meals) provided on a specific date or period. 3.3. Internal Policy: On an ex-gratia basis, the Provider may allow cancellations as follows:
- More than 7 days before the event: 100% refund of the ticket price (minus any transaction fees).
- Within 7 days of the event: Refunds are not guaranteed unless the ticket/place can be resold.
4. Quality of Service and Liability
4.1. The Provider undertakes to perform the services with reasonable care and skill as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015. 4.2. Limitation of Liability: The Provider is not liable for indirect losses (e.g., travel or accommodation costs incurred by the participant) if an event is cancelled. Total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service/ticket. 4.3. Nothing in these T&Cs excludes or limits the Provider’s liability for death or personal injury caused by gross negligence.
5. Data Protection (UK GDPR)
5.1. The Provider, acting as the Data Controller, declares full compliance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. 5.2. Legal Basis: Processing of personal data is based on the performance of a contract (booking), legal obligation (accounting), or legitimate interest (safety and security). 5.3. Data Usage: We only collect necessary data (name, email, payment details, dietary requirements). We do not sell data to third parties. 5.4. Individual Rights: You have the right to access your data, request its deletion („Right to be forgotten”), or correction. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
6. Photography and Marketing (Opt-out)
6.1. It is within the Provider’s legitimate interest to take photographs at events for community documentation and social media purposes. 6.2. Participants have the right to opt-out. If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform the organisers at the venue or in advance via email.
7. Membership
7.1. ARKME membership is subject to an annual fee. Membership terminates upon resignation by the member or non-payment of the fee. 7.2. Refunds for membership fees are not available for mid-year cancellations.
8. Governing Law
8.1. These Terms and Conditions and any disputes arising from them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the Law of England and Wales.
